MET Encounter Series

In life, we’re always surrounded by sounds: from the ones we regard as noise, to the ones we call music. But have we ever take a moment to truly tune in and pay attention to the harmonies they make?
At MET, we are always inspired by Glodok, the neighbourhood we live in. When people think of Glodok, they usually think of the food or the temples. But for us who grew up and live here, Glodok is also about the sounds: the tek-tek-tek of street vendors, the vroom-vroom-vroom of bajaj, and the serenity found within temples' chants.
In this encounter, we immersed ourselves in the soundscape of Glodok, listening to the neighborhood’s beats and rhythms. We walked through its bustling market and quiet alleys, met the people keeping the area’s musical tradition alive, and experienced music like never before with Audio Nirvana’s curation of tunes and high-quality audio systems.
