Amidst the city’s chaos and endless movement, taste always finds a way to bring us home—back to the dining table, and to stories passed down through generations. Because taste is not just about what we consume, but also what we remember: family traditions, collective memories of home, and the cultural encounters woven in between.
To mark Jakarta’s 498th anniversary, MET Glodok presents a culinary exploration through Glodok—a neighborhood where Jakarta’s flavors continue to grow, adapt, and endure. One of the participants in this celebration is
Soto Betawi Haji Ma’ruf, a long-standing eatery preserving an old family recipe and contributing to the rich legacy of Jakarta’s culinary heritage.
Let’s gather and celebrate taste as a marker of place, time, and diversity.
